Glasgow Green is the oldest Victorian park in the heart of Scotland's largest city, Glasgow, opened to the public following the park movement of the 1830s out of a desire to improve health in the overcrowded conditions of the fast-growing industrial town. At the same time, a future management plan for the park is proposed to ensure its long-term role as an infrastructure. The park will acknowledge, explore and celebrate the many layers of human contact with the landscape and the site’s significance to the local citizens of Glasgow and the wider region. Victorian Park will serve as a gathering place for the public, a sensory playground, and a pillar of Glasgow's healthy, outdoor lifestyle, exciting and inspiring locals and visitors alike.
